In today's society, the thought process regarding women have changed to some extent. But still they face some difficulties and behaviours as they had to face before. In modern society , there is some amount of awareness related to women empowerment. Daughters are also allowed to go to school . They are loved and taken well care of their health. The light of education is spread all over the country. People have started thinking about women empowerment. In government sectors, there are some policies that focus on women empowerment . They are also included in the works of all sectors like education, medicines and infrastructures.
The status of women is not same as past in our society. After the constitution was made in 2072 BS, the whole system changed .The first woman president Vidya Devi Bhandari is live example of women empowerment in our country. We can see many female teachers in schools, colleges and universities. We can see women in political sectors too. There is rule of inclusion of women in every sector. Being a democratic country, Nepal has provided equal opportunities for both male and female in the country. Women wear not allowed to work out of the home in the past but we can see today that women also work as better as men in every field of development.
Now the citizens of the country are being educated. All are given education. All started knowing that we should not create a difference between a male and a female. Both men and women are the two sides of the same coin. One is incomplete without the other. The world has changed. The light of education has touched all faces. Unless women work, neither family nor society or the nation can see the development . Half of the population of the country is occupied by female population . Nowadays the earning of men cannot fulfill the needs of the family so female member has also started working. In today's society there is no discrimination that women cannot work outside of home.
Although, the development is seen. There are Still problems regarding women which are to be sorted out. There is still domestic violence in some rural areas. Women are punished by their husband. Dowry system is the headache for most of the parents. The parent have to work their whole life just to collect the money for dowry. Girls are still not sent to private schools in some rural societies. Girls are seen with different angle than the boys. These need to be changed. It will take time to change but it will definitely change one day. The awareness program should be conducted. The light of education should be spread all over the country to uplift the status of women in the country.
