Our Culture Is Our Pride
We all know directly or indirectly the meaning of culture. Culture is what we eat, what we wear, how we talk, how we behave with others, how we celebrate our sad days or worst days, how we celebrate our feasts and festivals and many more. Culture is not just what I mentioned above. All our acts and behaviour comes under culture. I am not talking about a single person by the term 'we' I mean any community or society else we can say in today's world, any village, Gaunpalika, City, district, state or the nation.
Talking about Nepal, there are 125 Castes speaking 123 languages. We can understand from here that there are 125 types of communities or groups of people in Nepal. Although the culture of different communities may vary from one another in any aspect, there are some common culture practiced whole over the country. People in Nepal follow different-different religions like Hinduism , Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. They may have different ideologies to follow but the process they do, somehow are same of all of them.
The majority of people residing in Nepal are Hindus. Although they are Hindu but again there are many castes and sub-castes that divide people. They speak different languages. Their own language is their identity. Now, people of different castes follow different norms and values that have been followed from very past by their ancestors and their future generations carry them in the coming days. They have their own style of talking, walking, eating, drinking and worshipping and all the activities that are performed all day.
In common, people of all castes talk politely with each other. They respect elders and love to the young ones. They respect to the teachers more than anyone. Teachers also called Gurus are respected or worshipped like a God because teachers are the one who enlighten our life. Teachers are those human being who makes our future or life full of lights in place of Darkness. Parents often teach good things to their children. Parents teach children to talk politely and behave well with others.
From birth to death whatever activities are performed in life by the group of people is called culture. for example, in some group/community/caste of people, they celebrate chhathi of a newly born baby in the very first 6 days of the birth. After the child grows and reach up to six months, Annaprashan is celebrated. This is the day when a child is fed with Anna or also we can say rice. This culture is specially practiced by most Nepali as most Nepali are Hindu. In the same way when a Muslim child is born, the child is circumcised on the very first seventh day.

In the same way other religions have their own culture. All the religions have their own feasts and festivals to celebrate like people in Nepal celebrate Tihar, Dashain, chhat, Holi , Eid, Ramadan and so on. So all the activities and practices that people perform in his life is culture. Culture varies place to place and country to country. We should be proud of our culture as in a very small country it is rich in culture. There might be only few countries in the world which may have such rich culture like Nepal. So it is obvious to say that our culture is our pride.
